This is an original 1893 etching (individually hand painted) of the interior of the Church of the Visitation in the ancient village of Ein Kerem (now within the municipal boundaries of Jerusalem). Tradition identifies this village as the birthplace of St. John the Baptist. This Church is located over what is said to be the home of St. Elizabeth when the Blessed Virgin visited her.
