No rusting and appears it was never painted

I am not certain if this is a portrait of Alt himself

just slightly different in each frame

I have removed some of it with light rubbing

All the while the full blooms are really lovely

Gestural Pair of Victorian Mounted Hair Samples, Annotated, 1860s word making came No rusting and appears itThis came from a small collection of hair locks and wreaths dating to the 1860s all stitched to, or tucked into, bits of paper annotated with names and notes. I considered listing them as a collection, but realized much of what I find beautiful about these is their specificity and singularity (color, composition, etc.) and so have treated them as individual drawings of sorts and so, truly, what a beautiful drawing!
