I really love the form and texture of this contemporary basket

So when I spotted this and one other of her prints at an antiques shop recently

with a fabulous all-over triangular relief pattern and drippy green and salmon-colored glaze over cream slip

possibly original to the piece and visible only when turned upside down

maybe made in Japan

Certainly they bear a very strong resemblance to the animals of Swiss toy designer and maker Antonio Vitali (who also designed many toys produced by Creative Playthings), and there is a Made in Switzerland sticker on the underside. At any rate, I think they make a pretty great modernist pair to sit on a shelf somewhere and also indestructible
