most of them labelled with their names-- I'm sure each grouping representing the inhabitants of the wonderfully detailed houses they are framed below
There are a couple of small spots of loss just to the surface patina

SOLD Early 19th Century Miniature Portrait of Lovely Woman in White and Blue, Presumed French black glass pin cube as the dish was madeI am not a great expert on portrait miniatures, but am pretty certain this one, of a lovely young woman in empire gown and high ruffled collar, is French, c 1810s 20s. Curiously, it seems as if the painter preferred painting patterned fabric to rendering a hand at bottom, though what looks like the edge of a sleeve cuff peeks out to the right, so perhaps there is a story there maybe our sitter lost a hand, who knows?
