This is a very nice WWII German National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei NSDAP) First Pattern Flag Pole Finial or Topper (Fahnenstange Endstck). It is constructed of a single piece of cast and possibly machined brass. The single piece design means that parts could never be lost, and it small set hole on the side of the socket to attach it firmly to the pole. The design
