2022 Montemelino Grappolo Rosso Sangiovese The vines predate the nameWoman led and organic since the founding in 1961 by Margret Etten CantarellI, recently the reins were passed on to her daughter Sabina. Grappolo is 60% Sangiovese with the tiny DOCs unique local variety Gamay del Trasimeno (a local strain of Grenache). Juicy sour cherries, herbs and minerals with just a hint of chew, the Grenache adds just a bit of flesh to the wine. A perfect pairing for grilled pork chops and a summer salad.
