Seal Row Bar home Give the gift of joyRowing without help from the hips On bent over rows the whole body ends up joining in at some point: the hips swing, the torso rises with the bar, the weight goes up the work in your back doesn't. On a seal row you lie flat on your stomach, the bench lifts you off the floor, and the barbell runs underneath you. Your torso simply has nowhere to escape to. What's supposed to pull, pulls: lats, rhomboids, mid traps and your lower back stays out of it.
