the obverse with a separately applied nickel-silver disk displaying the royal crown on a raised field

This particular buckle is illustrated on page 265 of "Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich

The cap is fully surrounded by a fold-down side panel which is trimmed along the top edge with a black rayon tresse
