(Orden Flix Varela Primera Clase) Flix Varela Order, First Class, silvered and gilt bronze with central gilt medallion bearing the portrait of Flix Varela surrounded by his name, mounted on an eight pointed star with circular cut out frame, reverse displaying the Cuban coat of arms and the inscription REPBLICA DE CUBA CONSEJO DE ESTADO, of three piece construction, with visible staining on the white enamel ring, suspended from its tricolour ribbon
